Best Bang For My HAM Radio Buck


I first ordered the Icom IC-2730A mobile HAM radio to connect to a 12 volt power supply to use as a home base station. With an output of 50 watts and a major brand radio at a price of less than $350 it was within my budget. I was also very pleased with its performance. I was so pleased that I bought a second for my truck. Then a third for my SUV. The best thing about have identical radios for all three applications is that I didn't have to familiarize myself with multiple sets of controls. What's more, I only had to but one programming cable and software.
